On Thursday, a few of us went to Manchester to support Charlie in the live cook off final at the Great British Pub Awards in which he was competing against two great chefs for the Young Chef award.
He cooked an incredible dish of lamb rump, crushed new potatoes, charred broccoli, salsa verde and lamb jus and is pictured above being quizzed by judge Dave (Chef Patron of The Unruly Pig).
Charlie did an amazing job under incredible pressure, but was piped to the post by Karl Quirante from The Cricketers in Ormskirk.
We are all so proud of him for making it to the final.
